John Hall, Goddard College papers, 1971-1981.

This collection contains the professional papers of John Hall, who was president of Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont from November 1976 until October 1980. The papers primarily document Hall's relationships with various staff members through a series of reports and memoranda as well as various budget and financial records. There are the minutes of trustees' meetings for that period. The remainder of the collection includes a folder of correspondence, a labor relations report, newspaper clippings, press releases, notes for speeches, and a personal resume.

John Hall was born April 16, 1922 in Natick, Massachusetts. In 1942-1943 he attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy and graduated with a third mate's license and a commission as ensign in the United States Naval Reserve. He was on active duty with the Navy from April 1944 to November 1945. He returned to the Merchant Marine as a second mate before leaving to attend Goddard College in 1947.
